A smaller and more intimate resort . . .
Some big changes have happened to our property during the past several years, and the Resort has become a smaller but more intimate place. Three years ago we made the difficult decision to sell a portion of our property containing the center motel building and the northern motel building for development into a condominium. A number of factors led to this decision, including the deterioration of the structure of the buildings (which were built in the 1950's and 60's) and drastic increases in property taxes. We consolidated our Resort operations to the two story building in January 2004. Construction on the portion of the property that we sold then began and was completed in May 2005. As part of the construction project, we built a new pool and renovated our courtyard, driveway, and the front of our property. The pictures on the right show off our new look. |

We are very pleased that the construction is over and we are very happy with the results. Our brand new infinity pool on the beachside is stunning, and we have purchased new pool furniture and outdoor chairs for all hotel room patios. Our courtyard has been landscaped with grass, coconut palms, thatch palms, clusias, bougainvillea, orchids and bromeliads, giving it an Old Florida look and feel. The Resort is quiet once again, and we frequently see guests reading novels under the palms or napping by the pool and on the beach. Life on the beach has slowed down and is back to normal.
In addition to renovating our pool, driveway and courtyard, we have renovated all of our beachfront hotel rooms and bayside condominiums to update their look and feel and make them more tropical. All of the rooms have new chairs, carpet and fabrics that are tropical in flavor. All of our rooms also still have full refrigerators, stovetops, microwaves, and DVD players (upon request). We have established a dedicated laptop in the lobby that allows guests to access the Internet for free to check e-mail and research vacation information. We have also installed Cat-5 internet access in all beachfront hotel rooms for guests who want to access the internet with a laptop.
Although we have fewer rooms than before, we are providing our guests with more amenities, and our commitment to providing you with a peaceful, relaxing stay on the beach has not changed. Come stay with us, and experience our legendary hospitality and beautiful property that has been owned and operated by the Moore family for three generations. |
